Advantages of "lingualized" occlusion;Prosthodontics have always been concerned with the maintenance of the alveolar bone. Many ideas concerning occlusion and it's role in preservation of the residual alveolar ridge have been proposed. It is now widely accepted that cusped teeth, if properly arranged, provide an efficient and aesthetically pleasing posterior set-up for many patients. The presence of cusps, however, does introduce potentially destructive forces. There in lies the benefit of Optiform.....In general since these forces are relieved, no contra-indications for the applications of the "lingualized" occlusion concept exist. These posteriors are for patients with whom an occlusion concept is indicated to minimize the horizontal component of force during mastication and parafunctional movements as a result of strong alveolar bone resorption, flabby and knife edge ridges or abnormal jaw relation and/or a large inter ridge space. DR FRENCH Posterior Arrangement; POLY-PLANE; designed to reduce lateral thrust created by masticating forces. It is generally accepted that by reducing cuspal interference and attaining occlusal harmony, there will be less adjustments and that it will likely contribute to patient satisfaction. Dr. French designed a system that emphasizes a single linear masticating cusp on the lower mandible that is opposed by a modified flat occlusal surface on the maxillary. It’s true - that since then many, variations of zero plane teeth with opposing flat surfaces have been introduced, however, for decades these have been the
posteriors reputable dentist have relied upon for the comfort of their patients.

CENTRIC LINE INDIVIDUAL PORCELAIN. Centric-Line posteriors are specifically designed for increased denture stability and wearing comfort. The "knife-like" cutting action of the Centric-Line posterior;
1. increases chewing efficiency,
2. decreases occlusal trauma,
3. eliminates lateral forces, and
4. is self adjusting
5. Excellent in all applications.
Centric-Line teeth are successfully utilized in overdenture treatment with implants and for patients with advanced alveolar bone resorption (no lower ridges).
Centric-Line are available in VITA shade in either acrylic (block form with medical stainless steel blade) or porcelain (individual teeth). Both with the "exclusive" linear occlusal design. Posteriors are approximately 0' degrees.
